Humility
Recently my Church hosted The Lords Kitchen. This is where we feed the needy, homeless, and down-trot ten of Burbank. In the past this was a program that was very dear to my heart; however, recently I dread this endeavor. As the Deacon Moderator I feel I must attend and this time I happened to be in charge ( a mistake I will try not to repeat). Keep in mind that "People are People" regardless of the fact that they are rich or poor but, some of these people need a lesson in "HUMILITY". We as a church take time out of our busy Saturdays to cook or buy food for this event, to deliver that food, and to set up and serve the food. I know as a Christian that Jesus expects that of us and I'm not complaining about my service. I am however, complaining about those who "EXPECT" certain foods and send back what they don't like. "THIS IS NOT A RESTAURANT, PEOPLE"!!!! We are doing you a favor!!! If not for us you would be "Dumpster Diving for Dinner"!!!! SO, when you are served your portion, say thank you with a humble heart and don't bitch. If you are served dark meat instead of white, "EAT IT" or ignore it and eat your other food or find out if someone else at your table may want to trade with you. Do Not send it back. My Children and I were in a situation at one point in our lives where we received help from others and I accepted my lot and my portion humbly. I expect the same from others. There is no "Free Lunch" people; however when you are served one, say thank you and shut up!!
